Netbook version for Meego comes inA netbook featuring the latest OS -Meego, the mobile Linux Operating system introduced by Intel and Nokia, has now been released according to the reports.
This is the first version and has been named as Version 1.0 based on MeeGo Core Software platform (CSP). It has supposed to be come up following the merging of Intel's Moblin with Nokia's Maemo platform that dates back to February at the MWC.
MeeGo is an open sourced Linux based operating system that fits in with most of the available hardware. It will also sport Google Chrome as the default internet browser instead of Firefox.
The detailed specs of MeeGo v1.0 CSP relies on Linux Kernel v2.6.33, Udev, DeviceKit, a Bluetooth stack, X.org and the Btrfs file system, all nicely wrapped by the Qt4.6.2 GUI application library.
The ISO file for MeeGo will be challenging the likes of Google Chrome OS, Windows 7 Starter Edition, Ubuntu and other Linux distributions.
However the company hints on the futuristic markets of smartphone where it will stand against the likes of iPhone OS and Android as well as Nokia's own Symbian OS.
