8 Must-Haves for Your Weekender

Here are items to make your Memorial Day or any weekend getaway perfect.

My dad used to tell me “only pack what I could carry.” If there was a medal for being able to carry multiple bags with heels, I would have won every time. If you’re going away for a weekend and not a transcontinental voyage, one bag is all really you need. And not a huge one like Whitney Port’s! Whether it’s a holiday weekend, solo retreat, girlfriend getaway or being whisked away for a steamy rendezvous, packing your weekender should be the least of your concerns. Read on for our essential list of our “go to items” so whatever your plans are, you’ll look fabulously chic!

1. Diane Von Furstenberg’s modern classic, the jelly gladiator ($75.00, Nordstrom.com), gets an update from an old favorite – the jelly! They come in three colors, but if you pick them in pebble, they’ll go with everything.

2. Trina round top clutch ($24, amazon.com).The color is on-trend and this makeup bag can double as a clutch for a night out.

3. LnA’s versatile loose side tail tee ($70.00, RevolveClothing.com), is comfortable enough for a long car ride. Later on, tuck it into a pair of skinny jeans, throw on a pair of heels and you’re ready for drinks with the girls.

4. Hudson Jeans the Collin skinny sean ($131.99, PiperLime.com). This skinny gives everyone a nice booty lift because the button flap on the pockets gives everyone a positive bump in the right direction!

5. Alexis Bittar’s Sculptural ribbon cuff ($295.00, AlexisBittar.com). It’s a sleek cuff that works during denim days and cocktail nights.

6. The smocked tube maxi dress ($39, ardenb.com), doesn’t wrinkle, travels well, looks fabulous; hey, it’s a no brainer.

7. Brushstroke blocks romper ($22.80, forever21.com). This one piece can become your summer signature. Dress it up or down by simply adding layered necklaces, cuffs and a pair of stilettos.

8. Don’t forget protection! Toss All Terrain’s Outdoor Travel Kit ($24.99, allterrainco.com) in your bag. The six travel sized products- Herbal Armor Insect Repellent (DEET free), Recovery Rub, TerraSport SPF30+, Aloe Gel Skin Repair, Lip Armor w/SPF25 come in its own bag. Not only will shield your skin, you’ll still have room for another pair of shoes, or two!
