So much for having a case of the Mondays. A recent British survey—the British love crazy surveys!—found that women spend a lot more time getting pretty on Monday mornings than they do any other day of the week, and tend to (comparatively) slum it a bit on Fridays.
As Reuters reported, "On average, women spend 76 minutes getting ready on Mondays —with almost a third of that spent on their hair—18 minutes on make-up, 16 minutes trying on different combinations of clothes and the rest taken up by showering and washing. This is reduced to 40 minutes on Tuesdays and continues to decline as the week goes on, falling to 19 minutes on Fridays."
Sounds like some understandable beauty burn-out, but the opposite case is true for us. On Monday mornings, we're out the door in a flash—because we're back through that door right at the end of the work day. On Fridays, however, we meet friends straight from the office, so we always make sure our hair and makeup are built to last and that we're wearing something that transitions well from professional to social settings (and that takes a few minutes to find in our closets). Also, here at Allure, Wednesday mornings mean meetings, and it's no coincidence that everyone looks well-coifed and dressed on the one day a week they're guaranteed to see nearly every staff member. Is your Monday routine longer than your Friday?
